Burnt by the Sun

Russia, 1936: revolutionary hero Colonel Kotov has been spending an idyllic summer in his dacha with six-year-old daughter Nadia and his younger wife along with other assorted family members and friends. Things change in Moscow, who appeals the women and modest Nadia with his games and pianistic bravura with the arrival of Cousin Dmitri. However, Kotov isn't fooled: this is the period of Stalin's repression, with telephone calls at the middle of the night time punctuation doom - and he knows Dmitri isn't paying a social call...
