Gavagai

Carsten Neuer, a German businessman, travels to Norway to complete his late wife's difficult translation of Tarjei Vesaas' Norwegian poems into Chinese. He employs Niko, a down-on-his-luck tour guide, to take him to the poet's home and other sources of inspiration in order to help him with his own translation. Carsten's wife's ghost appears to him on the road, and Niko is dealing with the unexpected implications of his girlfriend's pregnancy. Two very different men discover the transformative power of love, the limitations of language, and the human desire for companionship on this voyage.
