Jacek loves heavy metal along with his dog. He bombs them down into his little car and converts the country lanes outside his door. Everyone runs for cover when he and his girl friend Dagmara simply take into the dance floor. He keeps his muscles toned taking care of a building site near the Polish-German boundary where the entire world's largest statue of Jesus will be assembled, also loves his existance as a misfit within a environment. But his life is thrown off course with a terrible accident on the job that disfigures him. Eagerly followed with the Polish media, Jacek becomes the first man in the country to receive a facial transplant. He may be renowned as a national hero and martyr, but he no longer recognises himself in the mirror. Meanwhile, the statue of Jesus grows taller and taller. Whilst events across Jacek come quick and thick, the film never loses sight of this bigger picture and brings things even more into focus.
