The Harder They Come

Ivanhoe Martin arrives at Kingston, Jamaica, lands a contract because a singer also, after some initial battles, searching for work. He records his first song,"The Harder They Come" but after having a bitter dispute using a manipulative manufacturer called Hilton, soon finds himself resorting to petty crime to be able to pay the bills. He brings local folk hero status, kills some cops and copes marijuana. Meanwhile, his record is topping the charts.
