The Ref

Lloyd and caroline are a couple always at one another's throats, masters at crafting acid-tongued barbs at another's expense. Truly , they have been so obsessed with belittling each other which they stop -- not at all gun point. The gunman is Gus, a thief on the run by law enforcement, who kidnaps the bunch within insurance coverage, planning to use their home. But their incessant bickering shows significantly more than Gus forcing him -- into the unenviable role of peace maker -- with regard to their or her own sanity. To make matters much worse he finds that he has taken the couple hostage the night in their big Christmas party, and the guests are already on the way. Not wanting to leave Caroline and Lloyd Un-Attended, Gus opts to attend the party, pretending to become the few marriage counselor. This naturally leads to a series of comic confusions, as the hostage crisis and marital tensions head to their conclusion.
