Bottom is really just a British anarchic sitcom written by and starring comedian duo Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmondson as socially awkward, sexually inexperienced Richie Richard, and carefree alcoholic Eddie Hitler, two social outcasts living on the dole, trapped in a daily grind at a squalid apartment in Hammersmith, London. Perpetually skint, bored and sexually frustrated, they spend bickering scheming, and also being sadistic and nasty to one another. The series ran for three series, originally airing from 1991 - 1995, and was followed closely by five stage series tours throughout a feature picture guesthouse Paradiso, and the uk between 1993 and 2003. The show has been famous because of its nihilistic comedy and violent humor slapstick. In 2008, Bottom came in at number 45 at a poll to see"Britain's Best Sitcom" by the BBC. The series is still shown in britain on Dave and Gold and has been dubbed in other languages. In Spain the series is referred to. The theme music was provided by The Bum Notes, a band that previously featured Edmondson, and will be really just a cover of"Last Night" from The Mar-Keys. Plans were made at 2012 for Hooligan's Island, a BBC series, featuring the Eddie and Richie personalities from Bottom. But, that job was cancelled that October before production as Edmondson explained that he wanted to pursue other interests.
