It's 1715 on the Bahamian island of New Providence, the earliest functioning democracy in the Americas, where the diabolical pirate Edward Teach, a.k.a. Blackbeard, reigns within a fictitious nation of thieves, outlaws along with miscreant sailors. Part shantytown, a part marauder's paradise, this is an area unlike any other on earth - and also also a threat to trade. To acquire control with this society, an extremely skilled undercover assassin, Tom Lowe, is sent into the buccaneers' sanctuary to shoot the Blackbeard down.
