Lead Balloon
Balloon is a television series produced by Open Mike Productions for BBC Four. The show was made and is co-written by comedian Jack Dee and Pete Sinclair. It stars Dee as Rick Spleen, a comedian whose life is plagued embarrassments, disappointments and by petty annoyances. Sean Power, raquel Cassidy and Tony Gardner also celebrity. The very first series of six episodes was aired on BBC Four in 2006, with the very first installment. Repeats of the show were conducted on BBC H D and BBC Two, bringing it to a larger audience. A second collection of eight episodes aired on BBC Two in November 2007, and also a third show started broadcasting in November 2008. A show started ended on 5 and broadcast May 2011 on BBC Two.
Critics produced comparisons to the humor Curb Your Enthusiasm that was thriving, and favorable comments were made about the characters, the Eastern European housekeeper, particularly Magda of Fight Balloon. The first show has been released on DVD. The show's theme song is a cover version of"One Way Road", written by Noel Gallagher and performed with Paul Weller.
