Retired sea captain Jim McKay arrives at the West to wed fiancée Pat Terrill's huge expanse. McKay is a person whose values and approach to life are a mystery into ranch foreman and the ranchers Steve Leech takes an immediate dislike for him. Pat is egotistical, spoiled and controlled by her wealthy father, Major Henry Terrill. The Major is included at a civil war, over-watering rights with a rough clan directed by Rufus Hannassey.
