The Bravados
The CinemaScope picture was founded on a publication of the same name. Jim Douglas (Gregory Peck) is just a rancher who has been chasing the 4 outlaws who killed his wife for six months. He slides to the town of Rio Arriba, at which four men, Alfonso Parral (Lee Van Cleef),'' Bill Zachary (Stephen Boyd), Ed Taylor (Albert Salmi) and Lujan (Henry Silva), fitting the description have been in jail awaiting implementation, so that he can observe the hanging. Town has issued instructions to simply allow the hangman (Joe DeRita) to enter, so Jim has been accepted to Sheriff Eloy Sanchez's (Herbert Rudley) office to say his own enterprise. Town has never needed an implementation before, so they have brought in a person from outside town to accomplish the task. Jim is allowed by the intruder into the jail. They assert they hadn't ever seen him before, but he has a hunter's face.
