THE KIDS MENU is a feature-length documentary by the producers of "Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead." While filmmaker Joe Cross traveled the world for his previous two projects, he met hundreds of individuals and one topic that came up often was how to address the growing epidemic of childhood obesity. Joe speaks with experts, parents, teachers, and children in THE KIDS MENU, and comes to the conclusion that juvenile obesity is not the true problem, but a symptom of a larger one. The ignorance about what constitutes a healthy diet. Inadequate access to economical and healthful foods. Additionally, the influence of bad role models, whether they are a parent, teacher, or even a celebrity, is significant. All of this may appear to be a lot to overcome, yet when given the opportunity, children frequently make the surprise choice to follow a healthy route.
