Without Anesthesia
When a well-known Polish journalist reveals his full political talent and expertise on a television show involving questions and answers from a panel of journalists at a world conference, he causes a headache for the powers-that-be. When he isn't around, his foes revoke his privileges. The shock of being "unwanted" is mirrored by a deeper disappointment in his personal life: his wife is having an affair with a jealous young rival, and she wants a divorce after 15 years of marriage and two daughters. While he tries to solve these challenges on his own, she offers no explanations. All of his decisions are incorrect. After learning that his class has been canceled, he begins to drink heavily with students who are excited to attend his lecture. The previously sophisticated and dominating journalist is now reduced to quiet.
