Cassie is dejected and lonely since she works in a bar. When she told her boyfriend she was pregnant, he broke up with her. She had given her kid away for adoption after multiple failed suicide attempts, and she now regrets it. She meets stage technician Riley when a theater troupe from Los Angeles visits the little hamlet of Buckeye.
