The Blood Rose

Artist and botanist Frédéric Lansac has a passionate relationship with party girl Moira but dumps her when he meets the attractive Anne. The wedding of Frédéric and Anne ends tragically when Moira disrupts the festivities and causes Anne to tumble into a blaze. Together with his attendants, a couple of dumb dwarves, Frédéric and Anne seclude themselves in his home. Naturally, Anne grows resentful and demanding. Frédéric announces Anne's passing to everyone before secretly appointing a nurse to take care of her.
